Around last Thanksgiving (when life started to get more normal for us) we started talking about throwing a party for Audrey’s first birthday. At first we went back and forth about whether to have a party or not. When we finally did decide to throw a party, Lily and I began to look for ideas about how to decorate. One thing led to another and before we knew it, we had more ideas than we knew what to do with. Fortunately, Lily mustered her inner Martha Stewart and pulled it all together…
The party invitation was a mini children clothing catalog featuring some of Audrey’s wardrobe.
It was perfect weather at Snow Creek for the party.
The party theme was centered around orange and pink. Mainly because Audrey was suppose to wear a orange and pink dress to her party, but changed her mind at the last minute… girls can be so wishy-washy.
The focal point of the decoration was the dessert table which was filled with orange and pink colored tasty goodies. Since most of the kids at the party were quite young, the adults got to have most of the treats =)
Lily did a fantastic job with the decorations. Just about everything you see here: background grid, banners, cake toppers, pom-poms, party hats, cupcake stands, etc were all hand made. It’s amazing what she can do with a glue gun and some creativity =)
Our friend, Nancy, baked these fabulous cupcakes which were an absolute hit with everyone!
Pink and orange wrapped pineapple cakes from Momo Bakery in Alhambra.
Each of the kids received a personalized lollipop as a party favor =)
Of course, what’s a party without party hats?
Rebecca, from Mustard Seed Bows stopped by with two trays of her cute bows.
Since most of the kids were still very young, we brought along a kid sized bench for them to hang out on and to take pictures. Here’s Audrey hanging out with Vanessa
Lucas and Audrey are excited about something…
Sharing a drink with her BFF, Natasha
After a while, things just got silly…
“What? It’s over already?!”
Happy Birthday Audrey! It’s been a exciting first year, we can’t wait to see what this year brings. Mommy and Daddy love you very much!!
